Night shift has made a break room of their
own. It’s outside, under the stars and trees. Under the radar. It’s a
place they can drink, and smoke, and wait to go back to work. No one can
see the electronics plant from there. No one in the plant can see
them. That’s the point. So long as they do the work, no one looks too
closely. Someone who thinks of themself as a poet could think of it as friendly ground. So long as no one looks too closely.
Dan Born's play "The Hello Poem" will be read Monday, September 12 at the Midwest Dramatists Center, 3607 Pennsylvania (in the Writer's Place). Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The reading is at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a talkback with the playwright.
As with all MDC readings, no reservation required and it's FREE!
